**Job description** Tenova Goodfellow Inc. (TGI) is seeking a **Finance Controller** to join the Administration Finance & Control Department to assume the role of managing the financial aspects of projects for Tenova Goodfellow Inc. This position will be a temporary 12 month contract, with possibility of extension or becoming permanent. TGI is part of a global organization that supplies advanced technologies, products, and services to the metal and mining industries. As a world leader in providing advanced process control technologies, TGI focuses on improving energy efficiency in combustion intensive processes by using its proprietary extractive & optical sensor technology developed in co-operation with its strategic partners. **Key Responsibilities**: - Responsible for overseeing the financial health of the projects by analyzing costs, revenue, risks, and pricing - Maintain budget tracking tools, issue invoices and billings, manage fee structures, and forecast potential gains and losses in projects - Perform activities relating to project creation, maintenance, and project closure in line with the company systems & process - Ensure correct revenue recognition on projects - Facilitate project reviews to identify project risks - Perform cost to complete analysis on projects and re-forecast the adjustments within system - Ability to challenge and guide project managers in financial controls - Manage financial risk related to projects - Manage and follow timetable for various project closing and reporting requirements and perform management reporting (Revenue and Cost Analysis, Variance Analysis) with detailed commentary and analysis - Carrying out inter-project time and expense transfers - Supervise and coordinate activities intended to ensure the monitoring and reporting of the fundamental economic/financial variables. - Co‐ordinate and manage forecasts for the relevant area in terms of Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecast, Monthly Estimates. - Co‐ordinate the development and integrated management of effective methods and instruments supporting the planning and control activities, in line with the corporate guidelines about Administration Planning and Control. - Monitor and guarantee full compliance with the obligations concerning the drawing up of Financial Statements in accordance with applicable accounting principles and the legislation currently in force. Ensure business processes and controls are in place and are being followed to ensure the integrity of the financial information. - Supervise, execute and coordinate the fulfillment of fiscal obligations for the company and all the necessary statements and returns. Manage the relationship with competent authorities in compliance within force rules, in order to mitigate Identified tax risk areas. - Develop relationships with banks, ECAs, exporters, buyers, law firms, etc. - Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field - 3-5 years of proven experience as a Project Controller or similar role - Ability to prepare detailed reports and manage the most effective techniques and tools in report drafting - Proficient in SAP system is a must - Knowledge of methods and techniques to analyze current and future financial situations identifying trends and problems (actual vs. Budget analysis, variance analysis, etc.) - Proficient in POC "Percentage of Completion" accounting method is a must - Knowledge of basics and/or advanced accounting principles, ASPE and IFRS. Knowledge of accounting activities such as cash operations, personnel costs, site account reports, local petty cash management - Knowledge of the administrative procedures to manage the accounts payable and receivable - Knowledge of Canadian fiscal and tax issues of company activities and projects and ability to prepare a balance sheet, its components (Profit and Loss Account and Financial Statement) and purposes in compliance with regulations and laws in force - Knowledge of financial risk management techniques such as using financial instruments to manage exposure to risk, particularly credit risk and market risk - Knowledge of industry accounting practices (industries such as engineering, manufacturing, consulting) - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint) - Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks/projects - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Proactive, committed and solution/result driven - Team player - Excellent organizational skills - Critical thinking and problems solving - Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment For more information please visit: References will be required.
