**The opportunity**
An exciting opportunity exists in our Asset Integrity department within the Metals division for an Inspector, Asset Integrity located in Fort Saskatchewan. The purpose of this position is to perform integrity assessments of static equipment, ensure quality control for repairs and new construction, and report on equipment conditions in compliance with Sherritt’s Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System (PIEMS) and Quality Control Manual.

**In this role, you will be accountable for**:

- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements while contributing to the continuous improvement of inspection standards, practices, and procedures.
- Promoting asset integrity best practices, lean thinking, technical innovation, and enhancing management systems.
- Maintaining communication networks for inspection activities across cross-functional departments, including Reliability, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
- Developing and executing inspection test plans in alignment with Sherritt’s PEIMS manual, recommended practices, and relevant industry codes.
- Creating work requests, providing quality control guidance for equipment repairs, and reporting equipment conditions in Sherritt’s integrity database.
- Providing work instructions to NDE contractors and ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are met on-site.
- Acting as a QA/QC representative for third-party construction activities and collaborating with Engineering to uphold regulatory compliance and quality control standards.
- Supporting the development of weekly and long-term inspection schedules based on equipment frequencies and plant requirements.

**Skills and attributes for success**:

- Certified Engineering Technologist or Professional Engineer (Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical) or 5+ years as a Journeyperson Welder or Pipefitter.
- ABSA In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency (Pressure Vessels and Piping Piping) (ISI-PVPP)
- API 510 certification required
- Minimum 3+ years of NDE experience (MT, PT, UT, RT, ET).
- Firm knowledge of inspection techniques and repair procedures for pressure equipment, including vessels, boilers, tanks, and piping.
- Firm understanding of jurisdictional inspection requirements (ABSA, AER, Safety Codes Act, etc.).
