JOB DESCRIPTION**:FACILITIES ATTENDANT** - CASUAL BARGAINING UNIT POSITION - CUPE LOCAL 5218 LOCATION BASED AT 74 FIRVALLEY COURT SCARBOROUGH, ON WARDEN WOODS COMMUNITY CENTRE Warden Woods Community Centre (WWCC) is a multi-service agency governed by a local Board of Directors and funded by all three levels of government, the United Way and other generous partners. The Centre provides over 50 programs and services to over 6000 clients annually out of our main Centre and several satellite locations. ** **The Facilities Attendant is responsible for assisting the Facilities Department as they support all departments within the organization. The Facilities Attendant will work directly with the Facilities Supervisor and the Office Manager. **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Assists Facility and Program staff with overall building operation and provides a safe environment for staff, participants, and the public - Opens and closes facility by arming/disarming security systems - Ensures room set-up is completed in time for programs, participants, monitors, and permit holders - Assists facility maintenance staff and performs general cleaning duties when necessary - Acts as a member of the on-site emergency response team - Assists in inventory management at 74 Firvalley including stationery, furniture, and miscellaneous supplies - Takes action to deal with incidents, problems and emergencies and complies with Organizational Policies and Procedures - Adheres to all safety guidelines in accordance with the Ontario Health & Safety Act - Attends and takes part in meetings and training sessions **QUALIFICATIONS** - Ability to relate comfortably to people visiting the Centre and work in a diverse environment with an anti oppression, client-centred framework - Minimum of Grade 12 education, commitment to training and skills development - Ability and willingness to accept responsibility for evening and weekend building shifts/security - Ability to demonstrate safe operation of related janitorial equipment (ie, broom, mop, vacuum, ladder, hand tools, cleaning products, personal protective wear, shovels, etc.) - Can work both independently and as part of a team - Good organizational abilities COMPENSATION AND HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT $ 15.81 per hour 35 Hours per week A police reference check is required prior to commencing employment.
