Advent Health Care is a not-for-profit, charitable organization affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is led by a volunteer board of directors. Advent Health Care currently serves the needs of the community with the operation of Valleyview Residence, a 174-bed long-term care home and Forestview Retirement Residence, an a 128-suite independent and assisted-living residence.

**ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE**

**BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS**
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or other related field from a community college or university.
- At least one year experience working in recreation program planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Enthusiastic, creative individual working well with mínimal supervision.
- Good communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Second language (Russian, Hebrew) a definite asset.
- Police reference check for vulnerable sector a must.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop, implement, and evaluate recreational activities to meet the residents’ assessed needs.
- Maintain appropriate documentation as per Long Term Care Act requirements.
- Complete individual resident assessments and participate in the development and implementation of the Resident’s Care Plan.
- Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families,
volunteers and staff of other departments, keeping them informed of current and upcoming
- Participates in team meetings to plan programs with residents'

interest in mind;
- Facilitating residents to scheduled and pre-arranged outings;
- Assisting with assessment of individual resident activity levels;
- Preparing, carrying out and evaluating daily activities; integrity
- Implement the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement and Occupational Health and Safety.
- Adhere to Home current policies and procedures.
