Garden Centre Advisor

As a Garden Centre Advisor, you will assist customers with advice about plants. You’ll use your plant knowledge and customer service skills to make sure they get what they need for successful gardening.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as watering, pruning, and fertilizing plants.
- Monitor and control pests and diseases to protect the garden's health.
- Provide expert advice and personalized recommendations to customers on plant
selection, care, and maintenance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plants, gardening products, and techniques.
- Create and maintain attractive displays to inspire and educate customers.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a well-organized and welcoming store environment.
- Support sales goals by promoting and upselling products and services.
- Receive, price and stock incoming shipments.
- Assist with cashier duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Enjoy working outdoors.
- Strong knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and garden design.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a garden centre, nursery, or similar environment is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40lbs.
- Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
Pay: From $16.55 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Language**:
- English (required)
Work Location: In person
