Drama, Vocal, Dance Teachers Needed for Musical

Musical Theatre Instructors needed from September to June for an after-school performing arts program
ACTE - Annex Children's Theatre in Education, (Acte.ca) is looking to hire drama teachers who are also comfortable with teaching either voice or dance and co-directing the shows for its after-school drama and musical theatre programs starting in mid September. The after-school program runs from mid September to mid December and again from January to mid June. The program is divided into three age groups: 5-8, 9-12, 12-14 and is located in the Spadina/Bloor area.
Class Times:
A) Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Ages 5-8, (SK - grade 3).
In these classes students will collectively create an original play that they will perform at the end of the session. The instructor will be responsible to teach age
- appropriate drama games, vocal/music exercises and feel comfortable with incorporating the students' ideas into the script.
B) Thursdays from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm, ages 9-12, ( grades 4-6) and/or Tuesdays from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
In these courses the instructors will co-musically direct the musical that will be performed in a theatre in mid December. Instructors should also have experience putting together a 45 minute musical.
**The musical director** will be responsible to co
- direct the show and teach the vocals. Being able to accompany the show on the piano is a great asset.
**The choreographer **will be responsible to co
- direct and teach the choreographer to non-dancers.
The instructors should be working towards a degree in their discipline and have experience teaching young people. Most important to us is that the instructors enjoy teaching and working with young people.
