Purpose of the position
The warehouse operator plays an important role in all the warehouse functions by facilitating the movement of freight using lift trucks / forklifts from receiving of the shipments until the time the shipments leave the warehouse to ensure a smooth transition.
The basic jobs for the warehouse operator is to support the operations by receiving, labelling, packing and positioning shipments in designated areas.

Key Tasks
Receiving the products into the warehouse from the inbound, checking vendor name and order number from the system to retrieving shipments and loading for outbound.
- Checking the shipments and piece count.
- Move shipments to the racks and/or a specific designated area.
- Efficiently retrieve customer shipment, ensuring accuracy and relocate to the staging/loading area.
- Matching the shipment numbers and process shipment.
- Checking the shipments number or pieces, dimensions and weight correspond with associated documentation and updating the system.
- Prepare and schedule shipments for outbound movement.
- Follow and maintain a safe work environment which also includes housekeeping
- Ensures that procedures are followed on site to guarantee client service, productivity, as well as facilities and equipment maintenance.
- Sets goals to provide continuous improvement for assigned site.
- Preserves safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Educational background / Work experience
- Minimum High School
- Minimum 1-year experience in a warehousing environment
- Forklift license, an asset

Language Skills
- Fluent in French and English both written and oral

Computer Literacy
- Some basic skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Warehouse Management Software (WMS)
