The role
As a Network Analyst I you will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for the Network Reliability & Assurance of Shaw’s Advanced Enterprise Solutions - Business customer services. You will be working collaboratively in a fast pace, high stress environment to adhere to established Service Level agreements for internal and external stake holders.
A typical day
This role is responsible for the restoration of services rising from fault situations, proactive monitoring of the Core network, and successful deployment/provisioning of network elements.
**Your key accountabilities**:
- Perform all technical and administrative tasks to ensure network availability is successfully maintained at its highest levels, via incident and problem resolution.
- Monitor Network 24/7 (The work shifts include days, nights, and weekends.)
- Restoration of services rising from fault situations
- Deployment and provisioning of network infrastructure elements as designed or as part of service restoration.
- Lead network incident management activities, ensuring restoration in line with established service level agreements.
- Coordinate escalations both internally and externally during outage and degraded events
- Develop, document, and communicate Network Operations best practices & standards.
- Provide reports on status, fault management and utilization of the network.
- Initiate vendors and troubleshoot with carriers as required.
- Promote and represent Shaw in a positive and professional manner.
Your skills/experience
- Post-secondary education in a computer related or networking discipline and/or 1+ year(s) experience in Network Support. A combination of education and network experience may be considered
- CCNA Required, (or should show progress in acquiring certification within 3-4 months)
- Strong knowledge of internet protocol, internet services (but not limited to) routing, switching, TCP/IP, MPLS, DWDM, SONET, BGP, and Ethernet
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Dedicated to exceptional customer service and satisfaction, to our internal and external customers
- Ability to be creative, challenge and demonstrate initiative to generate improvements and foster positive outcomes.
