Overview:
**Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of **Technician I.**
Services and support a range of products sold/distributed for assigned product categories. Provides service and support to internal customers handling repairs of sales samples for resale or demonstration purposes and external customers direct to industrial end-users.
This is a full-time position.
This position is onsite. Any office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive.
**Responsibilities**:
- Technical Repair: Repairs products from assigned product lines within quality standards and standardized timeframes to minimize repeat repair. Provides repair update to management on daily assignments. Troubleshoots and identifies the warranty and non-warranty components of the repair. Provides customers with written estimates to ease communication related to non-warranty repair. Successfully completes required training seminars as instructed by Management team.
- Reporting: Collects information on frequently repaired units and notifies management regarding frequently occurring problems. Communicate with factory representatives and prepare reports summarizing repair diagnoses, monitor and report any technical quality issues etc.
- Q/C and Other: Performs Q/C check of customer returned or refurbished product. Performs various other related miscellaneous duties as required by Management on a day-to-day basis.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years Community College Electronic Technician or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years work experience on professional projectors and video equipment like PTZ cameras.
- Knowledge of basic microprocessor hardware / software theory and various OS - Windows, platforms and MS Office suite.
- Able to safely and accurately use tools and instruments supplied such as volt meters, oscilloscope, high voltage probes, Color meter, Signal Generator and a variety of diagnostic software associated with testing products and soldering tools.
- An acute ability to diagnose and repair products to modular level. Some board level repair required.
- Must maintain good workflow of repairs.
- Problem solving is predominantly routine with clearly defined procedures and alternatives in repairing products/equipment. Repair requirements involve a moderate knowledge of the defined product base.
- Good communication skills required when discussing repair solutions with end users - must be able to articulate cause of problem, remedy and cost in easy-to-understand terms using tact and diplomacy.
- Timely communication is required when communicating with customers for follow ups and estimates.
- Must have good team approach, work closely with other to achieve department goals.
- Must have excellent time management skills, work on multiple work orders, track pending estimates, follow up with customers.
