**SUMMER DAYCAMP LEADER**

**(Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association - Our House Child Care Centre)**

Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association is seeking highly energetic, creative and positive individuals to deliver a quality summer daycamp program for families living in the Mount Pleasant community and area.

**Your responsibilities include**:

- Guiding and caring for children ages 5-12 years.
- Providing leadership and supervision of children.
- Planning developmentally appropriate activities that provide children with positive play experiences.
- Leading and facilitating Children’s Rights activities and discussions
- Actively participating in all aspects of program such as swimming, games and art activities.
- Ensuring a safe, healthy and fun environment for the children.
- Maintaining open and supportive relationships with families.
- Developing strong working relationships with the Daycamp team and community.
- Daily duties will be assigned.

**Qualifications (applicants must have)**:

- 20 hours of Responsible Adult Training Certificate or equivalent training in accordance to licensing requirements
- Experience working in a daycamp or related childcare setting as a Program Leader.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Criminal Record Check clearance letter.
- Strong skills in program planning for school age children.
- Well developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication.
- Effective leadership and supervisory skills with children and adults.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to deliver services to a culturally and economically diverse community.
- Knowledge of Children’s Rights
- Ability to lead and facilitate activities, games and discussions
- Flexible schedule

**Rate of Pay**:

- $20.22-$21.80/hour (Includes 4 % vacation pay) - depending on experience
- Additional $6/hr ECE Wage Enhancement, if ECE certified

**Hours**:

- Contract, Full-Time, 40 hours/week
- Some availability for a shared work week. Flexible schedule and availability are needed.

**Contract Term**:

- June - August 29, 2025
- Training and planning dates in June - dates TBD.
- Camp starts on June 30th.
