We are currently seeking a Security & Dosimetry Coordinator for our Cambridge, ON facility.
JOB PURPOSE
To coordinate all security clearances, radiation protection information and dosimetry records for nuclear stations. This role aligns to project demand and experiences periods of high demand during execution periods. This position reports to the Commercial Operations Support Manager. The integration and communication with other departments (i.e. Project Management, Project Controls, Operations and Human Resources) is imperative to success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Security & Dosimetry Coordination
- Process security clearance paperwork for new hires and ensure all employees’ security clearances are valid prior to site deployment.
- Submit security assessment paperwork to government security agencies and customer security.
- Process personnel medicals, approve and track medicals invoicing.
- Process out of country criminal checks.
- Process yearly FBI checks for American workers.
- Process deliverables specified by various utilities throughout the world, such as:
- copies of passports
- arrange TLD Badges from Health Canada
- specialized medicals
- x-ray and blood test results
- customer dose management forms and dose history booklets
- NDE certifications
- eye certifications
- weld certifications
- resumes
- bio-assay before and after trip and arrange expert analysis
- orange badge employee credit reports
- other specialized items required by our customers
- Management of confidential filing and database records.
- Ensure personnel compliance with site bioassay/whole body count customer policies.
- Obtain dose records from various nuclear facilities and the National Dose Registry (NDR) to submit to the customer’s radiation data department for personnel arriving at site.
- Obtain dose records from customer’s radiation data systems on a project specific basis (typically daily) and supply the data to Project Controls for project dashboard updates.
- Analyze the dose rate/person vs the current dose/person and highlight personnel with registered dose that may surpass the allowable limits. Submit request to the customer to increase to radiation exposure control limits for at risk personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to clear the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) government security assessment.
- Valid security clearance for Bruce Power and Ontario Power Generation sites desirable.
- Degree or diploma in business administration desirable.
- Strong time management skills and able to re-assess priorities to ensure due dates are met.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Comprehension of policies, procedures and regulations of the nuclear industry.
- Strong knowledge of Canada/Ontario Privacy Laws and safeguarding of personal information.
- Proven ability to succeed in autonomous assignments.
- Strong aptitude for the elimination of manual processes/waste.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Outlook.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Experience in WORKDAY (Bruce Power).
- Experience in DMS - Dose Management System (Bruce Power/OPG).
- Experience in NOS - Nuclear Onboarding System (Ontario Power Generation).
- Experience in SharePoint - navigation and working knowledge for centralized project documentation storage.
