**The Role**:
The BIM MEP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the organization's BIM, related technology, and implementation at the project level. The company's BIM goal is to provide safe, creative, quality, and “in-place cost-efficient” MEP layout solutions for internal customers as well as external customers enabling superior customer service.

**Technical Skills & Competencies**:

- Know MEP systems,
- Know Equipment hook-ups,
- Know piping systems including, support and inline specialties,
- Know ductwork systems including, supports and components,
- Know electrical systems including duct banks, main feeders, and cable trays.
- BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team.
- Become a skilled BIM software modeling expert with a firm understanding of MEP design-specific content.
- Understand how a building fits together and how a building can be modeled accurately in a BIM environment.
- Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
- Create/Develop the model virtually for MEP design disciplines with trade-specific content.
- Builds and develops models for pre-construction, construction, fabrication, onsite layout, and as-built use.
- Coordinate pre-construction models with construction and fabrication models to verify model accuracy.
- Ensure that the model aligns with the standards and goals set in BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
- Collaborate and coordinate internally and/or externally with other disciplines' design changes and model changes.
- Meet model collaboration deliverables by managing construction, fabrication, and as-builts models.
- Review model spatial coordination and provide clash reports,
- Develop accurate construction/fabrication drawings and extract data based on the discipline’s BIM platform.
- Coordinate design documentation as a methodology with full utilization of BIM software, related technologies, and tools.
- Prepare BIM execution plans and project-specific documentation.
- Manage and maintain project content and source any additional content as required.
- Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams.
- Coordinate and manage BIM project data sets/workflows and project implementation.
- Communicate effectively and offer cross-team support.
- Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
- Daily model management administration and maintenance.
- Understand and execute government standards during the pre-construction design and construction phase.
- Manage and coordinate sensitive and confidential information.
- Manage software licenses including overseeing the installation of new software versions.
- Manage the implementation of BIM supporting software and related technologies.
- Keep the organization informed about best practices in BIM, BIM software, and related technologies.
- Responsible for organization-wide BIM standards, implementation, and enforcement.
- Look for efficiencies and productivity hacks in the organizations' BIM processes.
- Attend training, seminars, and workshops on behalf of the company with a view to transferring knowledge internally within the organization.
- Develop model content for company shop fabrication catalog.
- Amend modeled equipment and specialties based on a final buy-out.
