**Purpose**:
In advancing the Division of Students' Vision as 'Partners in Student Success' assists in the development, implementation, and coordination of the Indigenous Recruitment Program by scheduling recruitment visits and orientation sessions and visiting with Indigenous community agencies. Suggests new initiatives, arranges, and coordinates special events in collaboration with central recruitment team designed to attract large numbers of visitors to campus such as Fall Campus Day and the March Open House. Delivers presentations and communicates information about admissions requirements and York University programs and services. Acts as a primary/initial contact to advise and counsel prospective students, parents, community leaders, and Indigenous education/guidance counsellors, who are interested in on-campus visits. Supports the publication and communication program with proofreading and by providing input when requested to written copy, photography/graphics, and social media interactions. Tracks budget costs and maintains contact databases.This position requires a service-focused team member who treats members of the community with respect, values their time, strives for personal best, and collaborates to improve service experiences for all.

**Education**:
University degree required or an equivalent of 4 years' recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
1-2 years' related experience (e.g., public/cultural relations/communications/liaison, program/project administration) including making effective presentations and/or public speaking, advising and/or counselling, answering enquiries/providing regulatory information in a related service area preferred. Experience working with the Indigenous community required. Previous experience in post-secondary recruitment activities (e.g., Aboriginal Post-secondary Information Program) an asset.

- Excellent oral communication skills to make effective presentations, elicit accurate information, provide regulatory information and answer detailed and/or complex enquiries in a clear and concise manner

- Ability to work independently, show initiative, meet deadlines, coordinate a number of projects/programmes simultaneously in response to changing/conflicting priorities and working under pressure

- Ability to train and oversee the work of others
- Working effectively in a team environment
- Intermediate word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint
