Western Grater Contracting is a highly specialized contractor serving Vancouver Island. Our services include blasting and slope stabilization, drilling, shoring and shotcrete shoring, grouting and anchors. Our experienced team delivers safe and efficient solutions for technically challenging excavation and construction projects, maintaining the highest standards of safety and client satisfaction.

We are looking for Labourers to join our WGC team. Reporting to the Superintendent, you are responsible for supporting various deep excavation and shoring projects throughout the southern part of the island.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Loading & unloading building materials and equipment as needed
- Preparing the site to eliminate potential hazards
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the site to ensure it is clear of waste and scrap material
- Provide daily labour support as directed by the on-site team
- Always working safely and respectfully on NorLand and client job sites
- Operating as a productive member of a high-functioning team

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Construction experience is an asset
- A Class 5 licence is an asset
- Experience with basic power and construction tools
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
- Willingness to learn, develop new skills
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and in deep excavations
- Strong work ethic and a safety-oriented mindset
- Fit to work: able to see, hear, walk, stand, lift to 50 lbs, and work in deep, confined spaces
- Basic computer skills: experience with electronic timesheet entry (e.g., B2W, Hard Dollar) is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to undergo a background check upon hire
