Reporting to the Carpenter Foreman, the Modular Homes Carpenter will carry out general carpentry duties and assemble/build pre-engineered modular homes. Work is completed inside the production building at our Lundar location.
**must have transportation to and from Lundar, MB**

**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:

- Assemble modular homes using prefabricated wall panels
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Bolting, sealing, and fastening of structural components
- Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
- Review building packing slips for correct quantity and type of building components
- Correctly interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans
- Responsible for operating electrical, air-powered, and regular hand tools during projects
- Provide labour support to other workers as needed or as assigned by supervisors

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:

- Carpenter Apprenticeship Level 3 - 4 or Red Seal
- 3 years minimum experience as a carpenter
- Experience working on modular homes would be considered an asset
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy loads
- Ensure safety is a top priority at all times
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to self-start and take initiative on tasks
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license
