Prepress Technician

**Responsibilities and functions, among others, will be**:

- the processing of all assigned work in an efficient and safe manner
- to assure that all work is performed in accordance with the relating Workorder
- to work on PC and occasionally on Apple workstations
- the creation of files for digital printing devices
- obtain client approval prior releasing a job for further processing
- to operate digital printing equipment as it might be required
- to maintain the integrity of the digital filing system
- to maintain prepress equipment as required and assigned by your supervisor

**Additionally, motivated individuals will be taught**:

- to efficiently use impositioning software and have a solid understanding of the CTP workflow
- to take advantage of existing Linux tools for prepress and production automation
- to develop XSLT stylesheets

**To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume displays**
**some or all of the following**:

- that you are a graduate of the SAIT Print Management course or have another relevant post secondary education
- You have been working in the printing industry for a minimum of two years and have a solid understanding of the printing process, sheet-fed offset and digital.
- You have strong communication skills and are fluent in written and spoken English
- You possess a high attention to detail and are very organized
- You are outgoing, courteous and ambitious

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
