The Accounts Payable Clerk reports to the Controller and is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. This includes: processing and monitoring payments and expenditures, preparing schedules and maintaining the accuracy of the accounts payable system. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that finances are accurate and up to date, and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits.

**Primary Duties**:

- Sort and match vendor invoices against purchase orders and cheque requests to ensure proper authorization and accuracy.
- Code the expenses to the proper location, division, and department.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Input authorized invoices for payment.
- Prepare and process approved accounts payable cheques for payment on a bi-weekly basis.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and communicate with vendors as needed.
- Prepare analysis of accounts and prepare the monthly accrual.

**Secondary Duties**:

- Vendor file maintenance.
- Produce monthly reports.
- Assist in month end closing.
- Provide backup support to functions performed by other accounting personnel.

**Job Specifications**:

- Education Level - University degree or College diploma or equivalent.
- Experience - 1-3 years accounts payable and general accounting experience preferably in têxtiles, manufacturing or related industries
