Brampton, Canada AFA Cooper (AFA Systems) Full time

**OEM Machine Manufacturer looking for a MACHINE BUILDER/ASSEMBLER, with some experience.**

AFA Cooper (formerly Cooper Machine), part of AFA Systems, is located in Brampton, Ontario. We manufacture converting equipment for the plastic film industry - Machinery that seals, separates, folds, winds, cuts, plastic film and bags.
- Machine Assembler / Builder (mostly mechanical) working with small to large parts, with tight tolerances. Must be mechanically apt and a fast learner.
- Working to assemble custom machinery with parts including: side plates, rollers, shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, chains, belts, air cylinders, valves, motors, gear boxes, nips, dancers, mostly steel parts, including pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical components.
- Checking and Organizing incoming parts.
- Make new parts or small changes in Machine Shop using typical shop equipment and tools i.e. milling, sawcutting, drilling, tapping, grinding, etc.
- Comfortable working with and lifting heavy parts (assisted).
- May require travel (short travel, maybe few times a year if that) - not at this time during pandemic, but when things go bac to normal and after trained on machines, possible to go starting up machines, training, and troubleshooting at customer sites, communicating with operators/customers.
- Full time, day shift, with benefits. Typically 40 hours/week (may be some weekday overtime).

**Skills**:

- Min 2-5 years experience in machine assembly specifically.
- Works well individually and as a team.
- Flexible as is a fast-paced and constantly changing environment/requirements, every day may be different.
- Hands-on and Mechanically inclined
- Careful and Detailed - tight tolerances required
- Follow assembly drawings
- Comfortable with typical machine shop tools and equipment, and measuring tools.
- Owns basic tools
- Willing to learn
- Good attitude and communicates well - working together with other assemblers, engineers, customers.
- Physical stamina - working with some heavy parts (and very small parts), standing, crouching, climbing, lifting, etc.
- Can travel
- Can speak English well (other languages an asset).
- Pay rate depends on experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
