OVERVIEW: Responsible for supervising and implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure peak operating efficiency of our equipment. The responsibilities of the MS are to execute, under mínimal supervision, highly diversified duties including: installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining both production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Richmond Steel Recycling business goals and objectives. Must be a strong leader that is able to work with and develop a young, talented team of millwrights, welders and maintenance helpers **Requirements**: - Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Diploma or Degree - Minimum 5 years supervising a similar role within a heavy industrial environment - Employee must demonstrate good people skills in supervising the work of union employees - Must be able to communicate with and motivate the work force to assure the completion of mechanical and maintenance repairs as expeditiously and cost effectively as possible, to avoid work stoppages while maintaining safety - Should have good understanding of the operation of equipment and be able to determine problems and be able to make decisions to solve the problem - Must be computer literate for communications, and to design & input various reports - Must have good communication skills to interact with customers and commercial drivers - Must be legally entitled to work in Canada We are a hardworking group of people committed to providing a challenging, respectful place to work and have lots of fun while doing so **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Benefits**: - Dental care - Extended health care - On-site parking - Paid time off Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Overtime Supplemental pay types: - Bonus pay Ability to commute/relocate: - Richmond, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - Supervising: 3 years (preferred)
