Instructor - Accounting and Payroll Administration

Kootenay Columbia College has been a well-established post-secondary College since 1996. KCC is designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.The heart of KCC lies in our amazing teaching faculty and students. Our faculty consists of passionate individuals, many of whom have decades of experience working in their modalities.
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field **AND** 2 years of teaching or industry experience.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Current member in good standing with the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA).
**Skills and Abilities**
- Relevant professional skills and knowledge relating to the instruction of Accounting and Payroll, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students and ability to work cooperatively with other instructors and staff.
- High standards of behavior, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service
- Ability to consider and respond appropriately to students' needs, feelings and
capabilities, provide feedback, and treat students equitably.
- Ability to learn and use technology to enhance the student learning experience.
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Adhere to the policies and mandates of the College
- Ensure appropriate and respectful student-teacher communication
- Assess and evaluate students to ensure they meet program requirements
- Teach and support students, ensuring they meet all elements of the required skills
contained within their program.
- Liaise with the Program Manager/Campus Director on a regular basis with respect to curriculum development.
- Manage and mentor student relationships and expectations.
- Assess, evaluate, and report to the program coordinator on student progress on a
weekly basis or as required.
