Mississauga, Canada JP Laboratories Full time

To conduct chemical analysis of raw materials and finished products in accordance with current compendia and in-house procedures to meet domestic and foreign regulatory requirements, as well as JP Laboratories standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Chemical testing of raw material and finished products using specific instrumentation techniques such as HPLC, GC, GC/MS, ICP/MS
- Chemical testing using spectroscopic techniques such as UV, IR and ICP
- Perform testing related to method validation, method transfer and method development
- Calibration of equipment used in the laboratory
- Assist in the training and/or cross training of newly employed or less experienced chemists
- Reviews QC internal logbooks for incoming samples, standards, reagents, equipment etc.
- Verifies laboratory equipment daily use logbooks for completeness.
- Prepares technical reports, SOPs and protocols as assigned.
- Immediately informs area management on any testing deviations, equipment malfunction/failure, out of specification results or problems as they arise.
- Troubleshoots complex analytical instrumentation like HPLC, GC, GC-MS, ICP-MS and works with outside vendors if required in issue resolution.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Degree in chemistry or related scientific field
- At least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience using instruments
- Efficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Expert knowledge of instrumental techniques with emphasis on HPLC, GCMS, ICPMS and related software
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of HPFBI and FDA GMP requirements as well as efficient use of different compendia (USP, EP, etc).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and under minimum supervision
- Prepare, interpret and generate routine test reports in a timely manner and in accordance with internal and regulatory guidelines to meet timelines
