Overview:
SCOPE OF POSITION: A “hands-on” leader responsible for the maintenance, repairs and replacement of the company’s vehicles and unique mechanical equipment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee day to day job duties of full time and seasonal staff assigned to area
- Responsible for daily preventative maintenance program of area
- Act as liaison with other department representatives and Facilities Manager
- Oversee the hiring, training and supervision of all associates
- Ensure all jobs are accurately communicated to staff
- Co-ordinate all necessary tools, parts and supplies for each job as needed
- Install, rebuild and/or repair equipment as specified
- Maintain all required service records, reports and logs as needed
- Identify and report all potential improvements, modifications and upgrades
- Develop comprehensive work schedules for annual maintenance with adherence to timelines
- Complete all full time and seasonal appraisals on an annual basis
- Co-ordinate, with Manager, fleet replacement program, major overhauls, modifications and alterations required on company vehicles and equipment
- Ensure the safe operation of individuals, work areas and work projects
- Assist with timecards and schedules
Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a licensed technician in a diverse environment
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing unique industrial equipment and light utility vehicles such as; forklifts, tankers, grass cutting equipment, golf carts and ATV’s
- Past experience in a leadership role essential
- Proven strong written and oral communication skills coupled with strong computer skills
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
- Prior experience with job and/or skills training, scheduling, job costing an asset
- Ability to work from manuals is essential
- Ability to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required
- Ownership of tools and safety boots
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Required to meet the physical demands of the job
