Within this Office, the **Indigenous Student Centre** unit is organizationally housed, and offers culturally relevant wholistic and strength-based programs and services geared toward Indigenous students at Western. **Responsibilities**: The Science Tutoring position is available with Western’s Indigenous Initiatives -Indigenous Student Center - WSSB 2100. **Applicants must be a current Western University Graduate Student** who is knowledgeable in the following fields: - Statistics and Mathematics (Statistics 1st and 2nd year courses, Mathematics 1st and 2nd year courses) Duties include providing academic support via one-on-one in person and/or virtual sessions for first and second-year Statistics and Mathematics courses. **Skills, Abilities, and Expertise** - knowledgeable and competent in tutoring first and second-year Statistics and Mathematic courses - possess excellent interpersonal skills - establish and maintain effective working relationships - foster an environment conducive to the academic, social, and personal development of students - ability to work independently and as a part of a team - excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to problem solve and provide constructive feedback - sound judgement and decision-making ability - participation in required training/workshops/meetings **Why Western?**: **Background Checks**: While transcripts are not required for the interview, they may be necessary prior to any offer of employment.
