General Labourer

**General Labourers (Miramichi)**

**Job Purpose**:
The General Labourer follows instructions from the Lead Hand, Supervisor or Coordinator to ensure that specific production requirements are met.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
**Quality**:

- Read, understand and follow work/assembly instructions as required for the job.
- Consistently meet all specifications and standards in production as they relate to the job.
- Perform visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

**General Duties**:

- Wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain safe and clean work environment.
- Use required tools properly and maintain them to prevent damage.
- Report broken or damaged tools/machinery promptly.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
- Experience using a variety of hand tools and power tools

**Education/Professional Certification**:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent

**Skills**:

- Proven ability to work well with others or independently with mínimal supervision
- Manual dexterity and physical strength to lift heavy objects(up to 50 lbs)
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Capable of performing in a high-volume production facility

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**

May require the following:

- Shift work
- Standing for long periods of time
- Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Repetitive tasks
- Working in warm/hot temperatures
- Dusty environment
- Noisy environment

- 12 hour shift
