We are currently recruiting for a **Production Supervisor,** at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location. The primary role of the Production Supervisor is to maximize the level of operational and quality performance by ensuring that the day-to-day production plan is carried out on schedule, meets daily goals, and maintains consistent product quality and integrity during the manufacturing process. The Production Supervisor will directly supervise and coordinate the department operations and staff in a manner that ensures a safe work environment, produces quality product, drives productivity, and maintains engagement and team focus. This position will contribute to the identification and implementation processes, to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency within all areas of plant operations. As a member of the production area management team, participates in department projects and initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities Areas**:

- Production Operations_
- Organize, deploy, and measure weekly/day-to-day production for the shift and as necessary, consult with Production Manager in regard to production schedules, staff requirements, equipment repairs, and other production concerns.
- Ensure daily production plan is carried out on schedule and consistent product quality/integrity is manufactured.
- Work towards the attainment of production goals, objectives, and standards without compromising food safety and quality.
- Respond to routine operational issues including troubleshooting mechanical and technical issues. Ensure routine maintenance checks assigned to production are completed.
- Safe Work Environment_
- Foster safe work practices by enforcing standard safety procedures and as required develop and implement practical recommendations for safety practices.
- Quality & Customer Focus_
- Assures product quality by practicing and enforcing HACCP, Food Safety, and ISO requirements in all aspects of plant production. As necessary, responds to audit requirements._Leadership & Human Resources_
- Develop and maintain a team-based work environment by providing leadership, direction, coaching, training, and clear and consistent communication.
- Identify, assemble and manage human resources required to complete operational processes. Consults with Production Manager as required. I.E. work scheduling, performance development, employee relations.
- Continuous Improvement_
- Contributes to the maintenance of a Continuous Improvement environment.

To be considered for this position you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

- Education - Degree/ Diploma with a concentration in Food Science, Engineering or Business (food, manufacturing, or process management).
- Experience - 5 years of food manufacturing experience with 2 years in a Supervisory/ leadership role.
- Knowledge of Dairy processing and pasteurization a definite asset
- Safety - Strong knowledge of safety principals, practices, and ability to identify hazards to ensure team safety is essential.
- Quality - Solid understanding and working knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and other food quality systems and principles.
- Results - Drives to achieve results with a focus towards continuous improvement.
- Time Management - Highly organized with excellent time management/priority setting skills and knows how to make the right decisions.
- Computer skills - working proficiency in computerized environment; Navision, HMI systems plus Word, Outlook, and Excel an asset.
- Flexible - Able to work various shift schedules to provide Supervision to a 24/7/365 operation.
