**Archaeological Research Associates Ltd. **is currently seeking experienced Heritage Project Manager. This is a _**full-time permanent position**_. Work location is currently remote with the possibility of hybrid. Meetings and workspace will be available in our new Hamilton office.

Established in 1972, **Archaeological Research Associates Ltd.** (ARA) is Ontario’s oldest archaeological and heritage consulting firm. The breadth of knowledge from over 50 years of experience allows ARA to confidently investigate a diverse variety of cultural heritage contexts in accordance with a number of legislative frameworks.

**The Job**

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with the Business Development team to prepare proposals for heritage components of projects for provincial and municipal government as well as private sector clients
- Carry out site visits, report drafting and report editing/review for Cultural Heritage Assessment Reports, Cultural Heritage Evaluation Reports, Heritage Impact Assessments, Cultural Heritage Landscape studies, Heritage Conservation Districts, etc.
- Work with other ARA teams to coordinate the completion of heritage projects, and collaborating with the archaeology department on joint projects
- Act as Project Lead for heritage projects as required including assigning tasks, overseeing deliverables, client communication and mentoring junior staff
- Carry out community engagement including written requests, interviews, public open houses and surveys
- Communicate regularly with clients to obtain necessary information, provide updates on project status and provide technical advice
- Contribute to the administrative tasks and vision setting associated with the successful running of the heritage team

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- 5+ years experience in the heritage field
- Member of, or eligibility to become a member, of Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP)
- Skilled in evaluating the cultural heritage value or interest a variety of cultural heritage resources
- Demonstrated experience identifying impacts and suggesting mitigation measures for cultural heritage resources
- Knowledge of architectural styles
- Experience with client communication and community engagement
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage changing timelines and priorities to complete multiple concurrent projects of differing scopes within deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and editing
- Experience in leading complex projects and providing technical advice
- Involvement in completing cultural heritage assessments at a variety of scales from property specific studies to study areas with hundreds of properties
- Experience drafting budgets and managing projects within the proposed budget
- Willingness to travel within Ontario, with the potential for out-of-town/overnight work
- Excellent work ethic and comfortable working in a collaborative environment
- Class G drivers’ licence in good standing
