Personal Support Worker

**Looking for a VERY special Personal Support Worker to work with a client with specific care needs (female PSW only).**

**Position summary**:
**Specifics to the client**:

- **Frequency**: Shifts are every weekend or every other weekend and to cover usual PSW's holidays and time off. Opportunity for increase in hours is available.
- **Paid training shift(s)**:in-home training with the clients regular PSW.
- **Medical background an asset**: due to complex care needs: medical background an asset (international nurse located in Sudbury area, or retired nurse etc.).

**Duties for this client (include but are not limited to)**:

- Follow the identified care plan and perform activities-of-daily living.
- Ensure safety during transferring, ambulating, and wheelchair access.
- Provide cueing and reminders for daily routines.
- Learn and adhere to clients specific routine and ADLs to anticipate the needs, this is to aid client in conserving energy.
- Assist client with meals while adhering to safe food handling and the clients identified meal plan.
- Other tasks include but not limited to light cleaning, cooking and warming food etc.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a recognized PSW certificate program.
- Nursing students who have completed their second year of the BScN program may be considered.
- Minimum 2 years experience working as Personal Support Worker.
- Additional training and certification (an asset).
- Must have valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Advanced proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English is essential.
- Valid First Aid (level C) Certification and CPR.
- Current N95 mask fit.
- CPIC with vulnerable sector check within the last 6 months.
- Ability to work independently and to remain accountable.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks as required to complete personal care and assistance.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

**Salary**: $21.50-$24.50 per hour

- Day shift
- Weekends only
