Parking Meter Repairer

The Parking Meter Repairer reports to the Parking Meter Foreman and is responsible for the collections, general maintenance, and performing repairs on the pay stations throughout the paid parking areas of Winnipeg.

**As the** **_Parking Meter Repairer_** **you will**:

- Collect cash from pay stations located on the street in the paid parking areas of Winnipeg.
- Follow collection procedures which includes bending and lifting the collection cans (can weigh up to 20 pounds).
- Driving City of Winnipeg vehicle in all weather conditions.
- Install and replace existing parking information stickers on pay stations.
- Interpret and reference pay station information spreadsheet.
- Clean pay stations including removal of graffiti, snow, dirt, etc.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to interpret and reference written procedures.
- Customer service skills with the ability to effectively and courteously interact with staff and the public.
- Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to use small hand and power tools.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to understand oral and written communication and instructions.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.

**Conditions of employment**:

- The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
- A Police Record Check satisfactory to the employer.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s licence.
- Physically Capable to: lift up to 20 pounds, ability to bend, and twist.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
