**Fire System Design Specialist**: **Wilsons Security Limited** **Responsibilities**: Pre-Sales Support - Collaborate with sales to understand and agree on a concept design based on the client and system design needs. - Approach your work from multiple perspectives including the client, technician / electrical contractor, sales, project coordinator, etc. - Use expertise of industry and product knowledge; collaboration with sales associate to gather required information to ensure accuracy of system design to industry standards / best practices and building codes - Work within tight deadlines and time constraints - Select materials for systems, evaluate labour requirements, and determine costs for delivery of solution related to rentals, accommodations, travel, etc. - Identifying and research opportunities for new product solutions, working with Sales Manager, Distributors, and Vendors - Complete site visits as required for further understanding of client requirements Post-Sales Support - Review and compare job as sold to understand solution sold to initial pre-sale Fire Systems Design - Create scope of work to Wilsons Systems Design Standards and assemble shop drawings (special instructions, special equipment and/or lift rental specifications) - Create device schedule - Document system configuration (programming requirements, wiring requirements, termination order, etc.) - Develop plan for execution in coordination with the Project Coordinator to ensure resources, tools, and pertinent details are considered for scheduling - Proactively and clearly communicate changes in scope and how they impact cost, schedule, design, etc. Other Role Duties - Stay current with market trends, fire and building codes, etc. - Ongoing training of new products - Master the tools, products, and fundamentals of our industry (ex. Mircom, DSC, Bosch, etc.) - Focus on continued development of installation standards - Provide support as necessary to other teams to ensure complete execution - Participate in pre-job meetings as required **Qualifications** Understanding of electronic fire systems and circuits Ability to take conceptual information and develop drawings, schematics, and concise, detailed scope of work Strong communication skills (oral and written) Interpersonal skills (flexible, approachable, client focused) Detail-oriented Organized Timely and efficient Strong Decision-making skills Motivated self-starter Team Player Resourceful Formal electronics education considered an asset **Work With Us** This a full-time permanent position with a very attractive compensation package including benefits, pension matching, and other employee incentives.
