Overview:
The CSW Team Lead at Pacifica Treatment Centre plays a key role in both leading and participating in the direct care of clients. This dual-focused position involves overseeing the orientation, ongoing training, and shift coordination of Clinical Support Workers (CSWs), as well as actively engaging in the core duties of a CSW. Reporting directly to the Manager of Programs, the Team Lead is instrumental in ensuring effective client support and team management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the orientation and onboarding of new Clinical Support Workers (CSWs), ensuring a smooth and informed transition into their roles.
- Assisting with monitoring and evaluating CSW performance, in collaboration with the Manager of Programs, and providing regular feedback.
- Guiding CSWs on emergency preparedness, including identifying emergencies and differentiating between emergency and non-emergency situations, in collaboration with the Facilities Coordinator.
- Communicate workflow updates or procedural changes to ensure all CSWs are informed and prepared.
- Coordinating CSW shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing and client support.
- Acting as the main point of contact for CSWs, providing leadership and support.
- Liaise with interdisciplinary staff, including counsellors, case managers, nursing staff, and leadership, to support coordinated, client-centred care.
- Attend and contribute to MSAC (Medical Services Advisory Committee) meetings to improve medication-related procedures and support care planning.
- Draft, revise, and maintain CSW protocols and procedures in collaboration with the leadership team to ensure all information is accurate, consistent, and reflects current practice.
- Oversee and submit CSW timesheets, verifying accuracy and adherence to scheduling and payroll guidelines.
- Directly engaging in regular CSW duties, which may vary from shift to shift and include:

- Supporting clients in achieving their recovery-based goals.
- Conducting admission and orientation for new clients, including initial assessments and documentation.
- Monitoring and documenting client self-administered medication and liaising with pharmacies.
- Ensuring client wellbeing and overseeing activities within the residence.
- Conducting room checks and maintaining the security of the building.
- Reinforcing house norms and routines, including managing bedtime and wake-up schedules.
- Answering telephones and documenting messages.
- Interacting regularly with clients throughout shifts.
- Act as the emergency contact during shifts when interdisciplinary staff are not on-site, providing guidance and support to CSWs, and responding to client-related emergencies as needed.
