**Position**:CLINICAL ASSISTANT or RPN

**Status**:Full-Time Permanent

**Salary**:$19.00-$22.00/hour, based on experience

Must be available to work both weekdays (days/evening) and weekends on a rotational basis.

A typical shift can be scheduled anytime between the hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am-8:00pm and weekend shifts are Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm and Sunday 9:00am
- 12:00pm.

All shifts are dependent upon physicians’ scheduled hours. Flexibility required to work outside of these core hours.

**POSITION**:
As a Clinical Assistant/RPN within The Etobicoke Medical Centre Family Health Organization, you will support physicians so that optimal quality healthcare can be provided to patients.

**DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Escorts patient to examination room and determines nature of visit and documents into EMR (electronic medical record)
- Takes vitals based on nature of visit
- Ensures appropriate medical supplies are available/ready for the clinical exam
- Stock/re-stocks examination rooms as required
- Prepares/cleans rooms as required
- Completes/processes paperwork and invoices as requested by physician
- Handles/transports specimens as per protocol
- Ensures appropriate handling/storage of government provided vaccines according to Toronto Public Health guidelines
- Administers injections
- Handles liquid nitrogen as per guidelines

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**:

- Graduate of an IM Injection Certificate Program or Registered Practical Nursing diploma/degree from a recognized Community College/University
- 1-2 years relevant experience in a family practice environment
- Emergency first aid & CPR
- Knowledge of an EMR (electronic medical record); Telus Health PS Suite preferred
- Excellent customer service required
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Communicate verbally and in writing (electronic messaging) with physicians and all team members
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Exceptional organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Strong touch typing skill (50 wpm) a must

As a condition of employment, proof of full vaccination is required prior to start.
