Reporting to the Director, Cyber Data Steward, the Cyber Data Governance Lead contributes and manages aspects of the Cyber Data Governance team, engaging with Information Security & Controls and Enterprise Platform (IS&C and EP) teams to establish proper data governance, enable innovation through quality data, and ensure compliance with Scotiabank Data Standards.

You will lead aspects of Data Governance globally ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

- Drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Leads aspects of the Cyber Data Governance program, partnering with teams across IS&C and EP to adopt data governance capabilities in line with the Enterprise Data Governance framework including registration of data assets and data elements, documenting data lineage, defining business and technical data quality rules and monitoring for violations, and data quality issue management.
- Manages and oversees governance routines and communicates with leadership on the Cyber Data Governance program.
- Supports regulatory initiatives and engagements related to Cyber Data Governance.
- Collaborates with Customer Insights & Data (CIDA) and peers across the Bank to evolve the Enterprise Data Governance Framework as well as data management capabilities, practices, and culture.
- Register and maintain the Cyber Domain within enterprise systems, including metadata, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and physical data attributes.
- Identify and address data quality issues impacting the Cyber Domain; maintain records in the Data Quality Issue Management (DQIM) system.
- Prepare and validate DQIM dashboards for accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with IT, cyber security, and business teams to identify data requirements, establish data quality rules, and ensure data is used effectively to support business objectives
- Review current data flows, identify Cyber-specific control requirements, conduct process reviews for risks and gaps, and collaborate with technology teams or develop mitigating controls when needed.
- Partner with DQIM to resolve issues, create data models for KRI reporting, and analyze data to align with defined models.
- Monitor and improve data quality by identifying and addressing data issues, conducting data audits, and implementing data quality controls.
- Conduct process reviews to identify risks and control gaps, with emphasis on Self-Identified Issues raised by IT Risk
- Develop mitigating controls using available tools when collaboration is not feasible
- Provide training and support to stakeholders on data governance best practices and the importance of data security. Promote a culture of data stewardship within the organization.
- Generate reports and insights from data to support decision-making and identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the cyber domain.

**Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cyber security, or related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related role within the cyber security domain.
- Demonstrated ability to manage subordinates and deliver results.
- Proficiency in data management tools, cyber security technologies, and data governance frameworks. Strong understanding of technology infrastructure and cyber security principles.
- Proficiency with Data Quality tooling and reporting is a strong plus (Python, SQL, Power BI and similar)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Experience influencing and educating stakeholders across the organization on the value of data governance.
