Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Create labeling artwork for Regulatory submissions by obtaining required regulatory content and changes, creating artwork proofs and circulating internally and externally for approvals. Provide files for submission deadlines in appropriate formats.- Ensure that artwork is developed in compliance with Government regulations, customers/marketing preferences and suitable for packaging on packaging equipment efficiently in a timely manner by communicating with packaging sites and third parties regarding requirements for tooling and templates, specific printing requirements, identification methods, technical requirements, file transfers, alterations, and proof approvals. Establish standards where applicable. Develop artwork in accordance with requirements and Marketing Department preferences, finding solutions where size or printing limitations dictate compromise. Coordinate the review of Change Controls and follow up on all parties to obtain approvals required to complete Artwork Change Controls. Forward the artwork files in required format for on time Printing, Packaging and Production.- Control artwork versions through the review and approval of Change Controls. Coordinate revision changes and existing stock use with the Packaging sites, Supply Chain department, Customers and Vendors. This includes sending obsolete item notices and electronically certified artworks for further production.- Maintain the database of Electronic certified copies via DCM for immediate availability for Regulatory and QC release use.- Keep up-to-date the New Product Launch artwork status report to provide artwork status to new product launch team.- Update & Maintain a hard copy filing reference system as per SOP requirements.- Assign & Manage UPC codes to finished goods and communicate new product launch information to Marketing.- Provide labeling mock up samples for Formularies submissions as required and provide labeling related information to Customer Service/Hospital Contract Service.- Review and update the artwork SOPs a per QA requirements or when needed to reflect current business needs.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:
- A College diploma / degree, specializing in Graphic Design (or equivalent) and 2 years of graphic design experience preferred.- Strong working knowledge of Label/Carton design and page layout with specific software knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, In-Design and the use of “paragraph styles”, Acrobat, Photoshop, Quark Express, and Microsoft Word. Capability in both PC and Macintosh OSX environments. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Macintosh font management software.- Knowledge of printing processes to develop artwork cost effectively.- Knowledge of colour separations, spot colours, PDF set up attributes, prepress set up, and file format differences. Understanding raster and vector files.- Understanding of production packaging and bill of materials purpose.- Familiarity with regulatory standards.- Understanding the urgency and importance of New Product launches in order to supply the artwork on time after receiving the DIN.- Knowledge in Planning and Procurement that helps to estimate the lead-time of artwork supply for printing and packaging.- Clear knowledge of the bi-directional dependencies with other departments such as Regulatory, Supply Chain, Packaging Sites and Marketing in order to complete the artwork function.- Understanding the role of the labeling, the purpose and function, and need for visibility in each stage from regulatory through supply chain and launch process.- Ability to solve cross platform file issues.- Client Service skills.- Prepress skills.- Ability to prioritize projects.- Organizational and problem solving skills.
