Wanuskewin is looking for a Community Engagement Project Intern to connect Wanuskewin with community volunteers through the creation of a Volunteer and Community Engagement strategy/program.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with management and staff to identify needs and opportunities for volunteer program.
- Design all aspects of volunteer and community engagement program, including skills matrix, identification of opportunities/activities, volunteer recognition component, communications strategy (various forms of communication, including social media), and other areas as identified.
- Identify community members and groups to engage and create relationships with for volunteer opportunities.
- Strategize and deliver a communications plan to engage and enhance awareness of volunteer opportunities for skilled and unskilled volunteers.
- Coordinate day-of schedules and tasks for volunteers on Wanuskewin event days.
- Create weekly/monthly/seasonal/annual calendar of recurring volunteer activities/opportunities and identify skills required for these recurring tasks; work with skilled volunteers to schedule their involvement.
- Responsible for creating and updating volunteer lists and contact information.
- Deliver strong communication and organization skills, focusing on providing authentic connections.
- Demonstrates a commitment to safety in the workplace, including in ones own work, that of the team and that of the entire organization.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in arts, tourism, heritage/museum studies, marketing/communications, or other related field.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture & traditions is an asset.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: One location
