Reporting to the Executive Director of Modernization and Strategic Integration, the Director of Policy and Program Development plays a pivotal role in modernizing Alberta’s traffic safety policy framework. You will lead strategic policy and program initiatives that support sustainable legislation, foster cross-sector collaboration, and ensure alignment with provincial priorities. As a senior leader, you will inspire and guide a diverse, inclusive team, while engaging stakeholders to develop innovative, evidence-informed solutions that make Alberta’s roads safer and its supply chain more resilient.
**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Leading the modernization of traffic safety legislation, policies, and programs to align with strategic goals
- Building and mentoring a high-performing team of analysts to grow policy capacity across the Division
- Fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and service-oriented team culture
- Anticipating and addressing emerging policy issues with timely, strategic recommendations
- Synthesizing and communicating complex information to internal and external stakeholders
- Engaging with partners across government and industry to co-create sustainable solutions
- Overseeing strategic planning, resource management, and implementation of policy initiatives
- Representing the Division and Ministry at internal and external committees and working groups
