The Opportunity: The Food Services Worker is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and ensuring that work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition. What Is In It For You: - Provides assistance to the Cook in the preparation of meals (as required). - Promptly reports equipment failures and breakdowns to the Food Services Manager/Supervisor. - Obtains food and supplies and assists in the receiving, checking, and storing incoming supplies as required. - Ensures that sufficient supplies are maintained in storeroom. - Sets up and delivers menu items to designated areas. - Assists with meal service in the designated dining areas. - Assists in setting up the dining room for each meal. Cleans up after meals. - Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. What You Will Need - Previous food services experience in a long-term care facility, retirement residence or similar environment is preferred. - Grade 12 Diploma (or equivalent) is preferred. - Must have completed or be willing to enroll in a food services worker program approved by the Ontario Dietetic Association and the Food Services Supervisors’ Association (or the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management). - Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
