This is the highest level of Human Resources at a smaller, less complex plant. Provides general human resource expertise to plant management and staff. Duties may include contract negotiation, labor agreements, promotion of good employee relations, development/implementation of training, safety, and health programs.

**Human Resources Coordinator - Oakville, Ontario**

Procor Limited manages Canada’s largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country. The fleet has grown to include more than 30,500 special purpose tank and freight cars. Procor also operates 25 repair locations servicing the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers and food markets.

Procor is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist for our Oakville repair facility.

Reporting to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Repair Business Unit (RBU) Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Coordinator provides professional and responsive HR support to the Oakville team through expertise in onboarding, attendance management, performance management, recognition and appreciation, full cycle recruitment, and compensation. The repair facility operates a two-shift operation at this time - response to members of both shifts will be required by the HR Coordinator.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Champion local HR process improvement and Corporate HR initiatives
- Assist in identifying current and future manpower needs, and developing a hiring strategy to achieve those needs
- Manage local recruitment and attendance management
- Process hourly and salaried payroll at their respective intervals
- Respond to employees’ inquiries and concerns
- Administer on-boarding process and exit process
- Manage hourly team member performance and maintain disciplinary records
- Advance workplace morale and core values
- Participate in the health and safety committee
- Respond to urgent matters that could occur outside of business hours
- Other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a unionized environment
- CHRP preferred, and a member in good standing with HRPA
- Familiarity with the rail industry is an asset
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience with Workday is an asset
- Experience with ADP’s Workforce Now is an asset
- Ability to work autonomously through full-cycle recruitment process
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational capabilities and conflict management skills
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
