The Production Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the refinery operations and will support the Plant Manager in monitoring and improving plant productivity.

Essential Duties:

- Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.
- Oversee assigned facility production activities (refinery) to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency.
- Manage monthly sanitation inspections and lead, monitor and ensure corrective actions are completed as necessary.
- Track and report facility productivity improvements
- Approve daily reports and KPRs for the two or more departments.
- Support and develop Refinery Supervisors in operations issues and trouble shooting.
- Assist the Plant Manager in planning annual shutdowns, if applicable.
- Oversee the Process Safety Management programs
- Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance in all aspects
- Responsible for developing and driving Operations Excellence Plans to help meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement throughout the facility.
- Support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the facility.
- Monitor KPR’s throughout the facility and help develop plans to bring teams in line with Operations Excellence goals.
- Participate in daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the activities of all production operations management are aligned.

- Participate in new employee selection process
- Assist Shift Supervisors with personnel issues by participating in investigations and recommending corrective actions as necessary.

- Requirement to maintain all aspects of the quality and food/feed safety system such as QMS, HACCP, GMP and other BNA systems
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

- 10+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and years of experience) in soybean crushing, oil refining, oil packaging operations, or related and applicable activities
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
- Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed

Standard (On-call 24/7 as needed)
