**Position Description**
**Job Title**: Health Care Aide
**Reports to**: Community Housing Manager
**Schedule**: Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday from 8 am - 4 pm
**Salary Scale**: $41,600 per year to Start
**Position Description**:
Through a harm reduction approach, provide personal care and support to Alpha House Clients in our
Permanent Supportive Housing and Community Housing programs, who are palliative or who are
physically disabled, at a number of site locations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- With mínimal supervision, work within and to the scope of an HCA
- Providing personal hygiene and wound care to clients who may be palliative or have limited
physical ability
- Be client-centered in your approach and model our values of being non-judgement as well as
showing respect and dignity in all your interactions with clients, their guests and your colleagues
- Work are part of a team in the client’s case plan, reporting any changes in the client’s status
- Role model Alpha House’s value’s and be a positive ambassador when interacting with the
public, partners and businesses
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and ability to
reference them from appropriate sources
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (ex. health regulations, OH&S, WHMIS etc.)
Travel between locations
- **Qualifications Required**:
Completion of a recognized HCA Course (or its equivalent)
- Preference will be given to those with experience providing personal care to physically disabled
and or palliative individuals
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation
- Strong planning, follow up, time management & organizational skills
