**About this opportunity**
Reporting to the Studio & Facilities Supervisor, the Custodian is a hands-on individual who will perform custodial duties to ensure the overall upkeep of our facility in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures.
**What you will do**General Cleaning**
- Vacuum carpets in office and public areas.
- Sweeping and Mopping.
- Wash windowsills; cleaning of all glass windows, including plexi-glass dividers.
- Clean and dust general office.
- Clean, organize & re-stock boardrooms.
- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily.
- Clean kitchenettes and restock supplies as needed.
- Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.

**Sanitizing**
- Sanitize high-touch, high-traffic areas.
- Wiping and disinfecting desktops.
- Fogging work areas as needed.

**Waste Collection, Disposal & Recycling**
- Collect building waste daily placing it in approved container and place in designated. collection area for subsequent removal.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Facilities Support**
- Support Facilities Co-Ordinator with emergency response to leaks, building maintenance and general system failures.
- Occasional off-site facilities support & cleaning at temp studio locations.

**Health, Safety & Wellness**
- Follow instructions regarding the safe use of chemicals and supplies.
- Champion of a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

**What you have to offer**
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the cleaning, janitorial and/or general building maintenance
- Knowledge of the health & safety legislation including reading SDS sheets and identifying hazards
- Motivated self-starter, confident, and able to navigate through change
- Proactive and friendly in nature with the ability to work independently or as a team

**Working conditions**
- Regular standing and walking at length.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-toes shoes/boots; gloves related to a specific to a task or chemical; face shield and/or safety eyeglasses.
- Work is performed mainly in a standard office environment with exposure to general office noise, some occasional work outdoors.
- Some heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.
