**Job Title**: 2 - Camp Counsellors (Youth Position) - Canada Summer Jobs

**Hours**: 30 hours/week

**Wage**: $18.00 per hour

**Purpose**:
The Summer Youth position will be responsible for providing assistance in the following position:

- **Camp Counsellor**_
- Assist in planning and facilitate engaging and educational activities, including workshops, games, and field trips, that promote personal growth and development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate program logistics, ensuring smooth operation of all activities and events.
- Serve as a positive role model for youth, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and integrity in all interactions.
- Provide assistance with SCHC youth program.
- Engage with youth in a positive and supportive manner, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience or vested interest in fields mentioned above.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of how to use computer programs (i.e. Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work with a diverse populations and understanding of neighbourhood issues.
- Subject to a police background check as per organization policy.

**As this role is being funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program, the following are eligibility requirements**:

- You are between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible)
- You are legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
- You have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
