The HFR project is Canada's largest infrastructure project in generations.

**The role**

The Human Resources Business Partner will be supporting the Talents & Culture team in driving the human capital strategy for VIA HFR. As a key partner to Via HFR’s teams, you will contribute towards innovation and development to enhance the human resources best practices. You will act as a trusted advisor to all teams by focusing on driving people plans and meet our evolving needs of the business as we grow the organization.

**The responsibilities**
- Understand the business plans, objectives and the operating environment of VIA HFR in order to translate business needs into HR solutions.
- Provide strategic, operational and best practice advice on a range of people related business challenges and ensure that a positive work environment is championed and maintained.
- Develop strong and trusted partnerships with all levels of the organization and provide leaders and managers with objective coaching and advice.
- Partner with the other experts in the team to develop and implement company wide HR strategies and manage the launch of all HR programs.
- Provide recommendations on the design, facilitation, and implementation of HR solutions to ensure alignment with VIA HFR’s strategic development and long-term planning.
- Drive a performance oriented and learning culture by supporting projects aligned to VIA HFR’s journey.
- Identify human capital risks and potential mitigation strategies.
- Drive a diverse and inclusive environment by supporting DE&I strategy.

**The requirements**
- University degree in relevant area of study (Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business related program) or relevant work experience.
- Relevant HR designation is an asset.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a HR Business Partner role in a fast-paced, growing company or a start-up.
- Bilingualism (English and French), both spoken and written.
- Strong HR and business acumen, including problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
- Experience coaching and managing employees through complex situations.
- Strong team player.
- Experience working in multi-site environments.
- Ability to manage projects from conception to implementation.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian labour laws.
