**Job Description**:
CEDA hiring a local Equipment Operator to work at our Suncor base plant location in Fort McMurray You will be a part of our Dredge Fluid Management team.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Operate a variety of heavy equipment (dozer, side boom, excavator, rock truck) in a safe and effective manner
- Conduct pre-operational checks, perform daily service and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Perform a wide variety of jobs using basic construction skills and operating power equipment
- Clean, prepare and maintain construction equipment and components
- Operate and maintain trailer mounted centrifugal dewatering pumps & manage sump levels
- Manipulate valves, rig in/out diesel pumps, operate dredges & diesel/electric pumps, skid steer, etc.
- Perform other activities to assist with process and machine operations
- Participate in daily tool box talk meetings, weekly safety meetings, safety tours & CEDA’s ICE card program
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment & housekeeping in immediate work areas
- May be required to assist with minor repairs and maintenance

**Role Specifications**:

- 2+ year’s labour experience is an asset
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence and current driver’s abstract (no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years)
- Valid ECS CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)
- Comfortable working on and around open bodies of water
- Prior experience with pumps, centrifuge systems or dredging and dewatering is an asset
- Experience operating heavy equipment (Loader, Dozer, Excavator, Backhoe)
- Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

**Skills**:

- Strong mechanical aptitude
- You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
- You demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Prior experience working at heights with the use of special fall restraint equipment
- Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment (N-95 Dust Mask / North Half mask)
- You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
