**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Device Reprocessing/Stores Clerk to join our team. The Clerk will be responsible for Medical Device Reprocessing, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the Stores Department is clean and organized.

**Hours**: Monday-Friday 7:30am-12:30pm

**Union**: MGEU

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in supply chain/inventory and Medical Device Reprocessing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

**Responsibilities**:

- Sorting and preparing devices and tools for sterilization in accordance with established departmental procedures/protocols
- Creating and maintaining records of instruments/equipment/supplies received, sterilized and repackaged
- Determine and utilize the appropriate chemical detergents and disinfectants to use on specific instruments/equipment/supplies
- Performing manual cleaning/scrubbing/brushing of soiled instruments with disinfectant soap and chemical soaks according to procedure
- Loading/unloading and operating equipment used for decontamination procedures following instructions for how to sterilize instruments/equipment/ supplies effectively, and in accordance with established standards/procedures
- Prepare, wrap and sterilize instruments and surgical trays as per department needs (scheduled clinics/procedures)
- Prepare, wrap and sterilize surgical towels for various floors
- Wash bottles and sterilize distilled water as needed
- Inspecting, sorting and reassembling decontaminated instruments/ equipment/ supplies for repackaging
- Clean and maintain equipment frequently (e.g. autoclave) used in sterilization procedures according to manual
- Keep MDR room clean and sanitized at all times
- Pick up soiled laundry for it to be sorted and put in respective bins to be picked-up by 3rd party cleaners at designated collection point
- Clean laundry is counted, sorted and taken to various floors as needed
- Fill out orders for the next day deliveries to various floors (according to schedule)
- Assist with unpacking deliveries as they come in from various suppliers
- Maintain and keep shelves in medical stores stock room filled with appropriate inventory
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and ordering as necessary
- Asses and test the effectiveness of sterilization procedures by performing randomized tests on stored tools/equipment/supplies as determined by the supervisor
- Staying up to date on industry standards and best practices
- Follow and maintain infection control procedure, and other codes/ regulations/ standards including WHMIS, other.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Provide training to new employees on various equipment and sterilization best practices
- Performs other duties as assigned

Pay: $15.30-$16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
