Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK) is the lead child and youth mental health agency for the Region of Halton. This Prevention Services Worker position is a full-time contract position that involves the planning and delivery of targeted prevention groups and services.
This position is based out of the ROCK Hub program sites and reports to the Manager of Community and Youth Development.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- With the Lead of Targeted Prevention and the Manager of Community and Youth Development, contribute to the creation of an annual plan for targeted prevention groups within ROCK, ensuring to meet the TP standards for ROCK and the trending needs of clients in the community between Birth &18 yrs.
- Working with the Lead of Targeted Prevention, create targeted prevention group curriculum (ensuring to meet the TP standards for ROCK and the trending needs of clients in the community between Birth &18 yrs.
- Working with the Lead of Targeted Prevention, secure group locations, including virtual platforms and in-person sites.
- As part of the Targeted Prevention team, participate in planning for marketing and registration.
- Facilitate internal group offerings, largely based out of the ROCK Hub locations.
- Ensure all program pre and post evaluations are administered and analyzed.
- Maintain documentation for clients as outlined in the case management system. This will be completed for internal ROCK offerings and externally facilitated groups.
- Operationalize client safety through adhering to established policies and guidelines that ensure consistency in the delivery of quality and safe care, and by identifying and reporting any client safety incidents.
- Abide by the specific requirements of Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as any further health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the agency policy and procedure documents.
- Other duties as may reasonably be assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**

Education:_**
- Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care or equivalent.
**_
Experience:_**
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a community-based environment. Preferably, providing groups/workshops/education to children, youth and/or families.
- Demonstrated experience in targeted prevention implementation and development.

Skills:_**
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to plan targeted prevention activities.
- Must be organized and able to multi task.
- Familiarity with client-data management, screening and evaluation tools.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid CPR, First Aid Certificate.

Additional requirements:_**
- A current (within 3 months), Criminal Reference Check with vulnerable sector search.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Proficient in the use of technology and working from a virtual environment, as required of the position. MAC OS operating systems experience preferred.
