You will report to your
**Shop Manager**:, and under their guidance, you will:

- Assist Motion staff with problem-solving, product selection, sizing, sourcing, and costing.
- Quote development, carry out bid review, and obtain costing.
- Contact person for the Motion branch to provide product and technical support.
- Make joint customer calls with Motion technical service representatives when requested.
- Prepare equipment rebuild & product inspection reports.
- Coordinate and oversee projects.

**Requirements**:

- Mechanical Engineering principles and practices.
- Fluid power principles & practices
- Broad understanding of hydraulic cylinders, motors, pumps & valves.
- General shop experience, machining & welding.
- PC skills, MS Office
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specification
- Able to produce/alter drawings using Autodesk products

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Superior analytical ability
- Able to work independently and as a team player
- Excellent and practical communication skills, including clearly written technical reports that meet customer expectations
- Time management skills to manage all department projects to tight deadlines
- Able to make knowledgeable decisions with confidence

**Training/Education**:

- Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Journeyman Millwright, Journeyman machinist or equivalent experience.
- Safe work practices.
