**Job Overview**
**The **Accounting Intern will be assisting full-cycle accounting which includes but is not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory. The Accounting intern will also be exposed to ad-hoc projects that may be required from time to time.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Accounts Payable Functions:
- Charge expenses to accounts and cost centres by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
- Pay vendors by verifying federal ID numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase orders, contracts, and invoices, including discrepancies and documentation; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintain historical records by filing documents.
- Accounts Receivable Functions:
- Create and post sales invoices and credit notes.
- Provide monthly and weekly reporting to senior management regarding the status of aged customer accounts.
- Grain/Procurement:
- Monitor inward shipment in-transit and coordinate with suppliers and brokers.
- Record grain receipts and track purchase invoices.
- Other:
- Provide assistance to other accounting staff in the annual external audit review process
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties that may be required.
**Employment Qualifications**:
- In the process of completing or completion of degree/diploma in Accounting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, including balancing multiple priorities.
- Ability to adapt and meet changing priorities in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization internal and external in a professional and objective manner.
- Strong sense of initiative, self-starter, and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player and able to work efficiently in a dynamic fast-paced, work environment.
