**Job Overview**

JN&Nel Pinoy Store is seeking a dedicated **Retail Store Supervisor** to support daily operations in our Filipino grocery and specialty goods store. You will oversee front-line staff, ensure inventory accuracy, and deliver culturally informed service to our diverse clientele. Experience with Filipino food and cultural items is highly valued.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Staff Supervision**:

- Supervise and schedule cashiers, stockers, and clerks
- Train new staff on store operations and Filipino product knowledge
- Monitor staff performance and assign tasks

**Customer Service**:

- Greet and assist customers with cultural awareness and professionalism
- Provide recommendations on Filipino dishes and grocery items
- Handle customer complaints and inquiries

**Inventory & Merchandising**:

- Receive and shelve stock; inspect for expiry or damage
- Create culturally themed displays (e.g., Fiesta, Holy Week, Christmas)
- Notify management of low inventory

**Cash Handling & Reporting**:

- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Perform end-of-day cash reconciliation and sales reports

**Safety & Cleanliness**:

- Maintain a hygienic and organized checkout area
- Enforce health and safety standards in accordance with Alberta regulations

**Qualifications**

**Education**:

- Secondary school diploma required
- Post-secondary in retail/business is an asset

**Experience**:

- At least 1 year in a supervisory role in retail or grocery store

**Skills**:

- Familiarity with Filipino food and products (e.g., sinigang mix, frozen lumpia)
- Leadership and communication skills
- Basic computer and POS system proficiency
- Punctual, organized, and customer-oriented

**Compensation and Benefits**
- **Wage**: $24-$27/hour
- **Overtime Pay**: After 44 hours/week, as per Alberta Employment Standards
- **Vacation**: 10 paid days annually

**Working Conditions**
- Fast-paced environment with standing and lifting (up to 25 lbs)
