Carpenter Helper

**LABOURER/CARPENTER HELPER**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists with the installation of foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
- Assists with the installation of window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim
- Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
- Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Assists with building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.

Duties and Tasks
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Assist with building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring and erecting walls and roof systems.
- Assists in the repairing and renovations of residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
- Moves necessary materials around jobsite as needed.
- Cleans up worksite debris.
- Operates tools machines and other equipment.
- Installs trim items such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware with supervision.
- Aid carpenters and other staff on site with duties as assigned.

**Required Skills**:

- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, pull, and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
- Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
- Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination and balance.
- Tools and equipment that construction carpenters must be able to use include: o Hand tools (saws, hammers, crowbars, pliers) o Power tools (drills, circular saws, chop saws, nail guns) o Power equipment (forklifts, cranes, trenchers, portable cement mixers)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$21.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
