Mechanical Assembler

**Shifts**:
Afternoon: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Must be flexible for any straight shift.
**Job Type**: Permanent Full-time
**Probation Wage**: $23.80 to $24.75 plus $0.70 shift premium
**Probation Completion Wage**: $25.35 plus $0.70 shift premium
*Pay ranges are dependent on shift and experience

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the “Act”) and regulations
- Assemble fume hoods for standard and custom products
- Assemble mechanical components for standard and custom products
- Assemble and install mechanical sub-assemblies
- Verify if painted product meets quality standards
- Install hardware and plumbing fixtures, as well as painted parts
- Select and order electrical components
- Inspect and document standard and custom products for conformance to quality standards
- Make minor/major adjustments and repairs with little supervision
- Clean, wrap and prepare product for shipping
- Perform other duties as required
**Skills & Experience**:
- Able to read blueprints and data sheets
- Able to work with power hand tools (i.e. cordless drill)
- Able to use a tape measure
- Able to do plumbing and basic electrical
- Good math skills
- Good organizational skills
- Physically fit for heavy lifting up to 35 lbs
